A two-hour drive from my hometown, New York is a great place to spend your weekends when Timisoara is lazy.
Oh, did I say New York? Well, I was not entirely wrong, since I am talking about the New York Cafe in Budapest, the actual city which is two hours away from home. Considered one of the most beautiful cafes in the world, the NY is astonishing in architectural details and overwhelms you with its size as you place one step inside. Looking at the pictures makes it easy to understand why I am so fond with having coffee a few miles away.
Some of the most influential newspapers were edited here, in the upstairs gallery, but after WWII it fell into a poor condition, only to be restored to its original splendor in 2006.
